Track & XC Portal rang in the new year by announcing Version Two of its Recruiting Score Calculator, featuring major updates to better rank high school athletes.

The updated scoring system introduces two significant additions: field events and grade-based adjustments.

Version one of the calculator did not include field events. Version Two fully integrates field event performances, allowing for a more complete and inclusive evaluation of recruits across all disciplines.

The new grade-based adjustments address a key limitation of the previous version, which scored athletes from different graduating classes equally, even if they recorded the same performances. Version Two accounts for an athlete’s grade level, making younger athletes’ scores more comparable to those of older competitors.

Track & XC Portal also corrected scoring imbalances present in the original model that disproportionately rated sprint and hurdle athletes higher than athletes in other events. Version two resolves these issues, resulting in a more balanced comparison across all event groups.

Alongside the release of Version Two, Track & XC Portal launched a new recruiting website aimed at connecting high school athletes with collegiate coaches. The platform allows athletes to create free recruiting profiles showcasing their personal bests and recruiting scores. Optional upgrades allow athletes to add additional details, such as accolades or achievements.

All personal bests and athlete information submitted to the platform will be verified by Track & XC Portal prior to publication, ensuring accuracy and credibility for both athletes and coaches.

Recruiting graphic purchases will be handled exclusively through the new website with a newly implemented status tracker.
